PAWARA is pleased to promote the appeal by Purbrook Heath Bowls Club for new members. Many local residents may not be aware there is a sports facility on Purbrook Heath. The club is always interested in attracting new members. Although the outside season has now closed, they continue to have the facility for bowling during the winter months in the form of short mat bowling in the club house. This runs from October to end of March. This gives a good introduction to bowling for people of any age. The outdoor green bowling starts in April and continues until September. The club has an open day in May so please look out for more details. They also have a very good social side throughout the year with a variety of functions being complemented with a bar facility. The club is entirely self-funding and they have to maintain the grounds and building as they receive no help from Havant Borough Council.
